Hello
everybody!
Today I want
to share with you an amazing American recipe: Blondies. They are delicious
treats that you can enjoy whenever you want. Be careful: they are NOT brownies;
the main difference is the melted chocolate that you pour in your brownie
batter. Nonetheless, they are as good as brownies, even some people prefer blondies!
For 16
squares:
Wet
ingredients:
- 150 gr of room temperature butter (and a tiny bit for your pan)
- 8 cl of canola or sunflower oil
- 300 gr of brown sugar (light or dark, as you like)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
Dry
ingredients:
- 300 gr of all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder (or baking soda)
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 75 gr of white chocolate chips (or chopped white chocolate)
- 100 gr of chopped pecans
Start by
preheating your oven to 180°C (356°F).
In a bowl,
beat your butter until soft for about 2 minutes with your electric hand mixer
or whisk. Then add the sugar and beat for 1 minute. Add the oil, eggs and
vanilla and mix well. Mix the dry ingredients together and mix them with the
wet ingredients.
Butter or
spray your 24 cm (9.4 inches) side square pan and then spread in evenly your
batter. Finally bake the cake for about 30 minutes or until a tooth pick
inserted into the cake comes out clean. Do not over bake it, you are looking
for chewy blondies! Cut the cake into 16 squares and serve! You can decorate
them with icing sugar.
Baking Tip:
You can substitute the pecans and the white chocolate with other chocolates or
candies. You also can use grated coconut but maybe use less flour (or your cake
batter will be to dry). Feel free to create your own blondies!
